
The game would have taken place immediately after the end of Going Mobile!, with the duo shrinking themselves down into an undefined location in order to fight clones of themselves.

On June 16th, 2006, IGN.com posted an article revealing that a direct sequel titled Ratchet & Clank: Clone Home was in development. The game ended on a cliffhanger that set up a follow-up. The 2D sidescroller saw Ratchet and Clank get transported into the virtual world of a Secret Agent Clank Vid-Comic.

The series received its first mobile game with Ratchet & Clank: Going Mobile! in 2005. The series has received critical acclaim and is considered to be one of PlayStation's flagship franchises, having had new media release on a regular basis since its start in 2002. Ratchet & Clank is a video game franchise owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment that has received 16 installments as of 2021.
